To mitigate against queueing onto the R300 and to improve mobility along Strand Road, the City of Cape Town decided to increase the capacity of the road between Tienie Meyer Link Road and the R300 Northbound Off-ramp. The improvements included the addition of through and turn lanes and improved NMT facilities along the section of road.
